Collection: Babatunde Lasisi 🇳🇬

Babatunde Lasisi (b. 1994) is a Nigerian visual artist and graduate of School of Arts, Design and Printing, Yabatech. He specialises in Painting. He is a pioneering member of Arts in Medicine Fellowship and Deputy Director for Art Engagements, and has continued to inspire new AIM fellows through team work, civic engagement, volunteerism, collaboration and exemplary leadership. His artistic practice is based on the exploration and synergy of various materials as a tool for social commentary in addressing various issues in my environment and society at large as well as his personal reality. He draws inspiration from the various activities occurring within his immediate society which he reimagines and recreates with the use of found objects. Lasisi combines various objects, such as charcoal, fabrics, newsprints and pigment to create these explorations. The objects he collects and employs in his works are an integral part of the stories that he tells and the conversations he hopes to evoke. He has participated in various group exhibitions, art challenges, art talks, workshops and has had a solo exhibition. Lasisi’s works are in various private and public collections locally and abroad.
