Collection: Edosa Ogiugo 🇳🇬
Edosa Ogiugo (b. 1961)Â is a Nigerian modern impressionist painter with stories to tell. A visual conversationalist on his native homeland, his pieces visually document Nigeria's passing culture and timeless strength. Accentuated by colour, bold brush strokes, and the sense of movement, his body of works can best be described as thought in motion. He possesses an audacious aesthetic that's classic in nature, impressionist in execution, with an oriental retrospective. Edosa is captivated by the free spirit and refined nature of movement. His subjects often centre around women dancers of various Nigerian tribes, and horses. He likens these themes to Edgar Degas' paintings of ballerinas and Claude Monet's water lilies; noting how the subjects comprised much of their work.
