Collection: Korede Aremo 🇳🇬

Korede is a native of Ekiti State and is currently based in Lagos, Nigeria. She graduated with an MSc degree in Architecture from Covenant University and is currently a practising Artist and Muralist. She uses her art to capture questions on Self-Identity, shedding light on the effects of the gender roles stipulated by society. In the process, she draws on the topics of loneliness and anxiety, loss of identity and the idea of love. She sees her art as a means to answer these questions and when she cannot, she directs these questions to the viewers, inviting them to do so. Korede uses bright colors, and sometimes exaggerated eyes and elongated necks, to portray what would rather be seen as dark topics, aiming to cheer the viewer while they mull over the painting. She believes this will remind the viewer of how humans travail and find the positive, even in dire situations.
