Mary Funmilola Onidare ( b. 1994) is a young and resourceful Nigerian artist. She attended the Polytechnic of Ibadan and graduated in 2013. Not the type to rest on her oars, young Mary proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Fine Arts in 2018. She is presently manoeuvring her creative skills through the murky waters of contemporary art, using painting as the preferred genre. Mary expresses herself mostly in oil and acrylic, and her works are influenced by the female forms and the experiences that adolescents pass through. She is also interested in the exploration of popular issues in relations to her environment. Sometimes, she concentrates on themes in her socio-cultural environment. Her style can be likened to expressive realism.
