Collection: Ogbemi Heymann 🇳🇬

Ogbemi Heymann (b. 1967) in Jakpa, Warri-North, Delta State of Nigeria. He had a brief but career-defining stint studying Mass Communication at the Diploma level after which he enrolled and graduated (1996) from the Department of Fine and Applied Art of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. Adding to this formal educational background is his exposure in artist’s workshops locally and internationally and a natural love for bricolage which exposed him to variety of things, processes and haptic connections to materials as ‘things to think with’. These formal and informal spectra of experiences inform a deep sense of interrogating issues with the aim of coming up with informed solutions. Painting as an expression therefore provides a language to express his research into the human conditions as it pertains to the issues of leadership and citizenship.
