Pelumi Ponmile (b.1993) studied Fine and Applied Arts at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he majored in painting and graduated in 2016. He obtained his MFA at the same institution. His love for colours did not permit him to just stare at them, he had to learn to expertly mix them, and for years, he carefully mastered the art of creativity. His art bears the theme of hope to humans in every kind of circumstance. His brushes drip oil and acrylic paints, or at other times, through his fingers that connect fabrics. His love for the use of fabrics as an alternative painting medium - by carefully cutting these fabrics into patterns and small pieces, giving a perfect projection and an impression of paints, when in fact, he did not use any kind of paint at all. This special ability permits him to make exceptional pieces of arts that haunt the mind in a good way. Pelumi is a full-time studio artist based in Lagos. He desires that his artworks revive the hearts of everyone who looks at them and that people are able to visualize peace and reality through them.
