Wande George is an established Nigerian Artist whose works have been featured in several Auctions, solo and group exhibitions internationally. Drawing ever since he was a kid, George developed his painting career exploring themes of family ties, beauty, culture and political issues. Working in both figuration and abstraction, his paintings are unique and characterised by vibrant colour palettes and cubist influences. He aims to use art as a catalyst for social and political change. Wande works with Oils and Acrylics, his brush strokes are swift and heavy, while his colours are fresh, bright and captivating. He uses simple minimalist technique to illustrate complex subject. There is no attempt at creating an illusion of three-dimensional imagery but there is so much deliberateness in the choice and effective use of space. His emphasis is more on design over colour. The colour possibilities are stretched and expanded.
